Avoid Maid in Heaven if you are after a happy wedding dress buying experience. This shop became known as Maid in Hell with my bridal party. They ordered the wrong size dress (a size 12 rather than size 6) and tried to blame it on me losing weight. I was then told that they would get antoher dress in within a week or two, only to receive a phone call telling me that the new dress would not arrive until a few weeks before my wedding day. I was re-measured when Maid in Hell accepted that it was their fault and when I told them that my first measurement indicated I would need a size 6, was snorted at and told that they weren't being funny but I wasn't a size 6. So a size 8 was ordered and arrived a few weeks before my wedding day.

I tried to cancel my order and I came to dread visiting the shop (which was 1.5 hours away from where I lived), but was told that they would not refund the substanital deposit that we had put down as they had the right to rectify their mistake. When I tried on the new dress a few weeks prior to my wedding, rather than making the usual V shape that a corset back should have, it had to be fastened to it's tightest setting so that the two sides met in the middle and. This was still not a perfect fit, but the shop was going to charge us to have it taken in and there was very little time left.

Maid in Hell charged us a lot to have the length taken up and a small piece of material added to the back for a bussle, which then broke early on in the evening. We had an amazing wedding day, but my experiences with Maid in Hell definitely ruined my wedding dress buying experience.
