If you want to have a classically beautiful day, then try to plan yourself a romantic wedding-it will be one so perfect that nobody will forget it!
The Flowers
Nothing says romance more than red flowers, so get plenty of deep reds in your bouquet. The classic type of flower used for romantic weddings are Grand Prix Roses, so make sure you include many of these gorgeous roses into your arrangements. For variety of sizes why not add in a few rosebuds in red and white? If you want to add in some other colours, then ask your florist for some purple Lisianthuses, or for a different shape then try some Amaryllis flowers in red. If you want to experiment with some more colours, you could ask your florist to spray some petals and leaves gold.
The Cake
Romantic wedding cakes tend to be very similar to classic wedding cakes-they usually white (icing, frosting or marzipan), with a few tiers and are delicately decorated. Keep with the deep red theme and have some red flowers made from icing or marzipan – or just add a few roses to your cake to make it look beautiful before it’s eaten. Or, if you’re after something a little bit different, have cupcakes instead of one whole cake on your big day. Details such as edible butterflies will add that romantic touch to you cupcakes making them perfect for your big day.
Centerpieces and decorations
The easiest way to decorate a venue for a romantic wedding is by adding a small arrangement of flowers as centerpieces. You can be rather simple with this, by having just a few Grand Prix Roses or some Amaryllises in a vase can instantly transform the room. The deeper the colour of your flowers, the less you should have as a centerpiece as darker colours tend to be more powerful than lighter ones. So, if you do want to have many florals within your centerpieces, try to stick to lighter colours, or add some ivory flowers to brighten up the arrangement.
Look The Part
The Dress
Romantic brides can chose from almost any style of dress for the big day-as long as it look classically beautiful! Ball gowns, mermaid dresses, column and short dresses can all look gorgeous on a romantic bride. However, A-line dresses are perfect for romantic weddings and suit most figures as the bodice usually emphasises the upper body, creating curves where they are needed- just make sure you select a dress with the right neck and waistline for you in order to flatter your figure. The amount of detailing and ebellishments on your dress would generally depend on the accessories that you are planning to wear, if you are planning on using accessories with a lot of embellishments then it is probably best to stick to a simplier gown.
The boned bodices on these strapless gowns are perfect for girls wanting to emphaise thair waist and bust, as the boning will pull in an define your figure. The embellishment on this gorgeous Benjamin Roberts dress is ideal for a bride looking for an extravvegant dress, or those opting for a more simple gown can try ‘Bruant’by Cymbeline, or ‘Monte Carlo’ by Forget Me Not, which has a gorgeous flower drape detail on the side of the waist- perfect for curvy or pair shaped brides.
Brides with a bigger bust should try to find a gown with a V-neck, such as ‘Night and Day’, a beautiful A-line gown by Stewart Parvin. The v-neck will make the most of your bust, while the thick empire line waistband will emphasise the smallest part of your body. The more daring bride can try ‘Wisteria’, a gorgeous, romantic gown with a crossover back, which will also emphasise teeny tiny waists.
The Shoes
As with the dress, there is no specific type of shoe perfect for a romantic wedding-so all you have to do is make sure that the shoes compliment your gorgeous dress! Here are some of our favourite shoes right now.
Hair and Make-up
Long, loose curls can create a stunning look for a romantic bride and is a look that can be achieved on almost anyone - girls with short hair can add in some hair extensions for some extra length. Or for those who want to really show off their dress with an up-do can try to create a dreamy loose pony tail with some loose curls.
As with the rest of your wedding, it's best to go for a 'classic' look when doing your make-up. Make sure your skin looks flawless and stay away from any bright colours-keep your lips a natural pink and keep your eye make-up light and simple.
