A 20-year-old bride has tied the knot in a dress weighing a hefty 28 stones. While most brides try to shed pounds before their wedding, Josephine Doherty decided to embrace some extra weight, decking herself out with a 60ft train.
It took Ms Doherty two hours to get into her dream wedding dress and a further 30 minutes to hoist herself into the horse-drawn Cinderella carriage that carried her to Tolworth, Surrey.
Ms Doherty told the Sun: "I have always dreamed of a fairytale wedding."
Eight best men and five bridesmaids had to help the bride up the aisle to marry fiance Tom Delaney.
The weighty theme continued at the reception, where guests tucked into a wedding cake with a massive 40 tiers.
Ms Doherty's outfit beats the previous record for the heaviest wedding dress, which was set by 16-year-old Carly O'Brien of Gloucester, who got married in a 25-stone dress six weeks ago.
