OC star flummoxed in Oz

OC star Mischa Barton picked up a red face in Australia and not because of the country's famous sunshine.

The UK-born star was down under to promote Australian fashion labels but a series of basic questions about the designers she was meant to promote left her floundering.

Asked who designed the outfit she was wearing, Mischa drew a blank, leaving it to Collette Garnsey, David Jones general manager apparel, to rescue her with "Scanlan and Theodore", an Australian label.

Despite this, she had earlier said "I am so excited to be here" before adding: "It will be such an honour to see all of the Australian designers."

It was down to Ms Garnsey to save her from further embarrassment, claiming: "We have gone through quite a nice range of fashion this morning. And Mischa loves it. Alice McCall she really enjoys wearing."

Despite the mistakes, Mischa – first seen in the Sixth Sense and Notting Hill – is rumoured to have been paid $100,000 (£52,000) for the appearance.
