Pitt put off proposal by promise

Brad Pitt is said to be afraid of committing to marriage to Angelina Jolie, his own grandmother has said.

Betty Russell, 83, told reporters that he was still driven by guilt over failure to keep his wedding vow to be with Jennifer Aniston forever so is waiting until he is certain to wed Angelina.

"Brad promised his last wife on their wedding day that they'd be together forever and they didn't make it," Mrs Russell said.

"He is a sensitive soul who just wants to make sure he can keep his promise this time around."

Although he has had his first child with Angelina, Shiloh Nouvel, as well as becoming the legal guardian of Angelina's adopted children, there are no plans for marriage as yet.

Speaking of Jennifer's effect on this pondering, Mrs Russell said: "Yes, the family loved Jennifer. But he has got Angelina now and seems really happy with life."
