Women happy to Wag their tail

Women are trying to live like an England footballer's wife and girlfriend (Wag), but without the savings to match the spending, More magazine's latest survey has shown.

Four in five young ladies are spending more then they are earning, with many having to rely on parents to bail them out when debt gets too big.

Victoria Beckham, the "Queen Wag", came top in the poll of the "most admired woman of the 21st century" with fellow Wag Coleen McLoughlin also in the top ten.

Half of the 2,000 women polled owe an average of £3,830 on credit cards and 40 per cent have been bailed out by parents.

This appears in contrast to the recent survey which found that most couples getting married are prepared to pay for the wedding themselves rather than rely on the bride's parents to support them financially.

Overall though, it appears that financial planning was playing second fiddle to dressing and looking good.

However, Tory spitfire Anne Widdecombe came in number five, showing that qualities other than shopping are admired by some women at least.
