Worldwide trip makes for perfect wedding
Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day, but one couple embarked on a round the world trip to make sure this was the case.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) sufferer Laura Gilbertson was just six months into her engagement to new husband Carl when her condition worsened, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Doctors told the bride to be that chemotherapy was the best option, but Laura was reluctant to pursue such aggressive treatment, especially if it meant not looking or feeling her best on her wedding day.

"I didn't want to pump my body full of drugs, especially when it wasn't a cure like chemotherapy is with cancer. And then there were the side-effects. My hair could have fallen out and I could have had problems with fertility; it's just not what I wanted," she told the newspaper.

Instead, the couple embarked on a round the world trip to see how other countries treat MS, discovering a variety of techniques.

Laura experimented with many methods but found the best results came from following the blood group diet, as practised by Liz Hurley.

"Before I was so pale and had big rings under my eyes, but by the time of the wedding I felt so much better," said the blushing bride.

With her symptoms relieved, the couple tied the knot on July 22nd at St Paschal Baylon Church in Childwall.

Husband Carl admits that he found the occasion overwhelming, especially when he saw his "breathtaking" new wife walking up the aisle.

"In eight months she looked like a different person. She was back to her old self," he said.
